The Vision Engineering DRV120 Near-Coaxial Illuminator for DRV-Z1 is ideal for illuminating areas hard to reach with a conventional ring-light. Such as, down bores and threaded holes, between tall components and narrow features. It can also be used for illuminating fine reflective finishes such as metals, alloys, microchips, and for highlighting surface defects. Near-Coaxial Illumination differs from the usual ring-light, by illuminating through the objective lens very close to the optical axis. As the light is directed close to the optical axis, it is more able to penetrate the areas that the viewer can see. Light penetration from the Near-Coaxial is far greater than a ring light alone. Where the oblique lighting of a ring-light is great for giving even levels of illumination and softer shadows, the Near-Coaxial Illumination may appear slightly harder. DRV’s ring-light and Near-Coaxial Illuminator can be used independently or in combination. The DRV Near-Coaxial Illuminator is powered from a separate PSU, with brightness controlled from a connected remote.
Vision Engineering DRV120 Features:- Light Direction: Almost parallel to the optical axis for deep, focused illumination.
- Illumination Style: Strong central lighting with minimal shadowing.
- Surface Sensitivity: Perfect for inspecting Illuminating down bores, between tall features, and reflective finishes.
- Image Appearance: Flat and mirror-like — ideal for polished or machined parts.
- Typical Applications: Inspection of machined parts including bores, polished, reflective samples.
